A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.4 shook southwestern Mexico on Tuesday, the latest in a series of temblors in recent days, but there were no initial reports of damage. A strong earthquake measuring 6.4 magnitude struck the Oaxaca region of southeastern Mexico early Tuesday, an AFP journalist reported. Feb. 12 (Bloomberg) -- A 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck the southern Pacific coast of Mexico today, prompting the national oil company to shut down its largest refinery. There were no reports of injuries or major damage. A strong earthquake of 6.4 magnitude hit southern Mexico on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said, revising the strength down from its preliminary reading of 6.6. No damages were immediately reported.
