Defending world champion Sebastien Loeb took charge of the Rally of Mexico on Saturday as his Finnish rivals Jari-Matti Latvala and Mikko Hirvonen fell victim to technical gremlins. Defending world rally champion Sebastien Loeb has opened up a lead of more than a minute at Rally Mexico and is four stages away from recording a second win of the season. World champion Sebastien Loeb took the lead from Finn Jari-Matti Latvala in the Rally of Mexico after making an aggressive start to the day. Stobart VK M-Sport Ford rally team driver Matthew Wilson and co-driver Scott Martin have advanced a further place from their overnight position on day 2 of Rally Mexico; round three of the FIA World Rally Championship. Despite setbacks for both cars, BP Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team ended the second day of Rally Mexico in a strong position as the only squad with both pairings in the top five on the leaderboard. Citroen's Sebastien Loeb was heading for a repeat of his 2007 Rally Mexico win after establishing a comfortable lead of more than a minute in Saturday's second leg.
