VILLAHERMOSA, Mexico (Reuters) - Thousands of homes were flooded on Wednesday after several rivers burst their banks in the southern Mexican state of Tabasco and heavy rains left 70 percent of the swampy region under water. Oct. 31 (Bloomberg) -- Mexico's central bank raised its forecasts for inflation because of a tax increase and ``persistently high'' global food prices. Policy makers said it will take two years to meet their 3 percent inflation target. MEXICO CITY -(Dow Jones)- Mexican bank loans to the private sector grew 27.8% year-on-year to 1.38 trillion pesos ($129 billion) at the end of September, the Bank of Mexico said Wednesday. MEXICO CITY -(Dow Jones)- Remittances sent by Mexicans living abroad rose 2.7% year-on-year to $6.34 billion in the third quarter, according to the Bank of Mexico. Oct. 31 (Bloomberg) -- Mexico's inflation will accelerate through the second quarter of 2008, the central bank forecast.
